Prayer Focus: Conversation

Read each statement out loud. Close your eyes and repeat in your mind what you heard, and then listen for about 10 seconds to God's response back to you.

Yes, I hear the call, to remember I am a child of God………

I know there is no language or human medium that can communicate the beauty and significance of the blessed relationship between me and you, the Creator of all……….

I recognize it is beyond the comprehension of we who are earthbound, that we all are connected by that mysterious form of holy love that surrounds and whispers…….

And I know, it is made evident, for you, O God, made it possible through Jesus the Christ, the Promised One………...

I believe that means no one, nothing, no deed or misdeed stands between that relationship you have established with we who are yours……….

As a child approaches a trusted and beloved elder, I come before you, confidently, worshipfully, penitentially, joyfully and tell you all my doubts, fears, problems and needs…….

And when I do, all you ask is I be open, listen, and claim your divine mystery of forgiving, accepting offered love.........

So I in turn can offer the same to all who cross my path…….

How do I come before you?...............

Does submitting my will mean total surrender in my desire to know you, to know myself? ………

What is the path you have set before me? .............

How do I share what you have given me with others – those whom you love as dearly as you love me? ………….

How do I worship you or sing your praises? Can I rely on you to provide that which I need, to trust and abide in your presence?...........

When I shall sit at your feet, when I shall sit in the shadow of the cross of our Christ?...........

What will I find? ......................... What will I hear? ............

Do I dare to try?...............

Take me there each day Holy One and place me in that place to listen, to know, to share …...

Let me see your world, your people, myself as you see me.................

With the eyes and heart of Divine Love………………Amen
