Disciple I Fast Track: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study adapted for the BeADisciple Study App is a completely virtual version of the internationally-known, transformative DISCIPLE Bible Study. The study's 24 sessions cover Genesis to Revelation (12 Old Testament and 12 New Testament).

This study is easy to understand, and you will learn and grow no matter your current Bible knowledge. Explore the interaction between God and very human people. Pride, family relationships, conflict, and journey all showcase the best known stories of Creation, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Rebekah, and Joseph. Independent daily reading and preparation covers two chapters each week. The weekly videos feature scholars discussing the meaning and mystery in the stories. Group participation further enlightens the study.

Have you ever wondered why the same story appears differently in each of the four Gospels? The Gospels are authored by different people with different perspectives, and each has an agenda. Like any piece of good literature, the authors are doing more than reporting. They are creating propaganda for their particular faith communities. Their perspectives influence the stories they choose to include and the way they tell them. The differences are not a problem, but a gift. This class will help you understand why each gospel is written the way it is and compare their messages.

Using Bryan Stevenson’s book Just Mercy, this 3-week study will focus on those incarcerated from the perspective of mental illness, poverty, fair treatment and re-entry into society. Dr. Dan Flanagan, Rev. Pavielle Jenkins, and Emily Winnenberg will lead the group in discussion. Participants are encouraged to purchase their own book and read it in advance of the study, but it is not required.

The concept of grace was very important to John Wesley, and it should be for us. United Methodists believe that God’s grace is always available, and our recognition and acceptance of God’s grace sets us on a journey toward holiness. We will take a deeper dive into prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying grace.

Examine the variation among people of the same type through the lens of Subtypes - the three basic instincts: self-preservation, social, and one-to-one - that are expressed in everyday life. While we each embody all of the basic instincts, one tends to dominate. Knowledge of Subtypes is helpful for parents, partners, and people seeking to understand patterns of unproductive behavior.

This is an advanced Enneagram course.  Knowing your Enneagram number is a prerequisite.
