Wesley Heritage 2017 Tour Information Meeting

Sun, May 7, 2 meetings: 11 am and 12 noon, Room 203

Please join us for an informational meeting on this fantastic 9-day trip to England hosted by Dr. Clayton Oliphint, Rev. Debra Hobbs Mason, and Dr. Becky Bruff.

Trip Dates: October 17-25 + optional extension

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Movement, said “nothing short of God can satisfy your soul. Therefore, fix on him in all, through all, and above all.” Travel is a wonderful way to step aside from the regular pace and responsibility of life for a little while in
order to draw closer to God and one another. Join us on this pilgrimage to discover more about the roots of the Methodist Movement, John and Charles Wesley and other early leaders, and how it is all so relevant for our lives and our church today. We will journey from the Wesley’s birthplace and childhood home to Oxford where they were educated and the Methodist Societies
began, through the Cotswold’s and Gloucester to Bristol and Bath (which has Roman roots) and then on to London to see many sites including Aldersgate where Wesley’s heart was “strangely warmed.” This tour will open our eyes and our hearts as we experience more about this movement of grace which is such a vital part of our heritage as United Methodist Christians.
