Memorials and Honorariums

It is a growing trend for families, whose loved one has passed, to request that gifts be made to the Church in lieu of flowers. In addition, many people choose to give honorariums to their church or favorite charity in honor of a special event or as a thank you. The generosity of giving makes a wonderul gift idea and is a special testimony to others. Please consider giving to FUMCR, missions or any of your favorite charities for your next gift. Donations are a special way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or any special occasion or to just say thanks! |
Designations
The online memorial/honorarium giving form allows you to name a specific ministry area you would like your gift to support. Gifts without a specific designation will go toward the FUMCR General Operating Budget to support all ministries of the Church. Please note that Memorials will automatically support the specific ministry the family has designated.
Acknowledgements
A note will be sent to the person you have honored or to the family of the deceased notifying them of the gift. This note will not give amounts of gifts, but will let them know a gift has been made in their honor/memory. In addition, gifts from church members will be posted in the First Connections newsletter. Due to space constraints of the newsletter and printing deadlines, gifts will be listed in the order they come in. Please be aware that it may take several newsletters for your gift to be mentioned, especially during times when we typically receive a lot of honorariums/memorials such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Christmas, etc.

Please include a note with your check letting us know:
1. Who the gift is in memory/honor of.
2. Who the gift is from? (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Smith Family, etc)
3. If you would like to designate your gift to a specific ministry (Building Fund, Children's Ministry, etc).
