Life Connections

9:45-10:45     Room 205

E-mail Corey Freeman for more details about this class.

Welcome!

Life Connections is a fun, casual class made up of people in our 30s and 40s. Most of us are parents with young children. We meet weekly to study the Bible as well as learn about how to strengthen our relationships with God, family and friends. We participate in a variety of service opportunities, most of which are appropriate to include our children. In addition, we gather regularly for potluck dinners, family picnics, nights out, camping and more. If this sounds like a group you would like to take part in, please visit our class Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in room 205.

Curriculum

We are a self-led class that enjoys a variety of studies on topics that help us see the relevance of the Bible in our modern lives. Currently we are taking part in a DVD/discussion series about the basis of faith.

Mission and Service

Dallas Children's Advocacy Center Christmas Support: Each year, Life Connections "adopts" children from the DCAC to provide ChristmasLifeConnex_ChiliCookoff2010_11.jpg toys, clothes and gift cards.

Captain Hope's Kids: Life Connections sponsors various collection drives to help this agency that serves displaced children in the Dallas area.

Totebags for the Homeless: Each year, the class fills 25 or more totebags as part of this churchwide ministry.

Body and Soul: LIfe Connections members volunteer one Sunday a quarter to help serve a hot meal to about 100 homeless men and women in Dallas through the Body and Soul ministry.

Buy a Bowl for Body and Soul: See photos from the 2010 Buy a Bowl for Body and Soul Chili Cookoff, which raised over $1,100 for the Body and Soul ministry. Keep an eye out for information about the next event.

Class Committees

In June of each year, the class holds a planning meeting to set committees and identify areas of need and/or interest. If you see an area where you'd like to get involved - or a need we should address - let us know! Below are our current committees and committee leaders. Eight families participated in the 2009 Fall Family Campout
