The Handyman Assistance Program
Did you know that there is a group of men at FUMCR who are available for “handyman” tasks?
This program has been helping members of FUMCR, as well as people in the surrounding community, for over 30 years. Its purpose is to provide free or low cost minor household repairs to those who cannot afford professional work. Although the primary goal of the program is to help those who cannot afford a “real” plumber, carpenter, or electrician, the Handyman workers will accept other jobs on a lower priority basis. Some repeat customers could afford professional work but use the Handyman service because they feel more comfortable dealing with a church member than with a stranger. Please note that ongoing yard maintenance is not one of the services provided.
To make use of the services of these versatile handymen, call
- Larry Cottam, 972.238.9720 or
- Howard Kennedy, 972.661.9088 or
- the church office, 972.235.8385.
If, on the other hand, you want to be a working member of the “Handymen,” call one of the numbers above and volunteer. We need a few more men (or women) to help, and will be happy to get you involved.
