Miscellaneous Studies

First Groups short and long term opportunities are offered for study each year in the Fall and Spring. We are currently registering for Fall 2006 classes.

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is a 13-week household budgeting course based on Biblical principals.  A new class will begin in fall 2008. 

Prayer Group  meets every Tuesday morning in the Chapel to pray for the needs of our church, our community, and beyond. Prayer cards are available in the sanctuary and names are lifted up in prayer weekly. Support and encouragement cards are sent to people who are on the prayer list. Prayer Vigils are also held periodically.

Emmaus logoA Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal three day weekend retreat. The "walks" allow the pilgrim to concentrate fully on their relationship with Christ. While much of the time is involved in listening to talks and small group discussions, there is also time for great fellowship, food and memorable fun-filled times.
A Walk to Emmaus is the home site for the national organization.
Dallas Emmaus Community has information about local activities including Chrysalis flights for youth and Kairos Prison Ministry.

United Methodist Men is dedicated to building men spiritually and involving men in the total ministry of the church. The UMMen provides a place for men of all ages to gather for fellowship and learning and service.

United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. UMW meet together in small groups called "circles," to nurture and support each other. UMW hostess wedding, anniversary and birthday receptions to earn money for missions. They also collect needed items for Bethlehem Center, Wesley Rankin, Methodist Hospital and C.C. Young.

Woman's Center logoThe Woman's Center in Richardson is an all-volunteer outreach offers classes, support groups, and telephone counseling. Located at First Center, 515 Custer Road, Richardson, TX 75080, (972) 238-9516

Church Library is open Sunday and weekday mornings. It offers a wide selection of books and audio-visual materials for children and adults.

Book Review Club  meets monthly for part of each year and welcomes visitors.
