Prayer Group
The Prayer Ministry Group is a ministry of intercessory prayer.
What is intercessory prayer?
Intercessory prayer is prayer offered to God for others. An intercessor is one who takes the place of another or pleads another’s case. One study Bible defines intercession as, “holy, believing, preserving prayer whereby someone pleads with God on behalf of another, or others, who desperately need God’s intervention”.
The Prayer Ministry meets weekly on Tuesdays in the Chapel. Group members come and go between 10:00am and 12:30pm.
The group is always looking for people to expand the Prayer Team. If you are confident in your prayer life, maturing in your faith, can keep confidences (since prayer concerns are a sacred trust) and can give a minimum of 15 minutes a week to pray for the concerns of our members, we invite you to contact Rev. April Bristow or 972.996.0139.
Participants do not pray together, but individually pick up a pile of the prayer cards and pray over each card as we are kneeling at the altar or seated in a chair. There is no praying out loud unless one person requests it for themselves or feels the need for it for someone else. A list of new church members, military and on-going prayer requests is available to take home for prayers during the week. Praying for people that are in need of trust, peace, comfort, patience and healing has an impact on Prayer Ministry Group members as they intercede before God on others' behalf.
Our Walk With Me Garden is always available for individual and group prayer.
Please stroll through the garden and sit on the stone bench wall. The water wall flows and produces sounds that are smoothing and softening. Stand in the center circle and feel the presence of Christ upon you. Speak and hear the soft echo rebound back to you.
