Congregational Care Calling TeamCall church members to see how they are doing. Callers answer any questions they have about the church, ask if they have any needs that the church could help meet and let them know that the church cares about them. Contact Benita Belsley, 972 235 0504, or Janet Thompson, 972 235 2971. Nursing Home VolunteersVisit one or more church members residing on nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Volunteers are assigned a member to visit twice each month. To become a hospital visitor volunteer, contact Melinda Bogoslavsky, 972.234.0975. Hospital VisitorsVisit hospitalized members on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays. Volunteers are placed on teams, and each team is responsible for two months of the year. To become a hospital visitor volunteer, contact Jane Aitchison, 972.231.1242. Homebound VisitorsTelephone or visit a homebound member twice a month. If you wish to volunteer, contact coordinator Marie Madden, 972.679.6338. Homebound Communion TeamServe communion each month to our homebound members. If you are interested in serving or know someone we can serve contact Rev. April Bristow at 972 996 0139. |
Bereavement Care VolunteersAssist when there has been a death in the FUMCR community. Teams are formed to bake cookies, prepare food, and.or serve at receptions following services. If you would like to participate, contact coordinator Jan Casner, 972.661.5928. Prayer Ministry VolunteersCome to the Chapel on Tuesday mornings to pray for persons and families in crisis as a response to prayer requests submitted by members of the congregation as well as area hospital chapels. Prayer time is offered silently on a come-and-go basis. If you would like information about joining the Prayer Group, contact Prayer Blanket MinistryCreate blankets for individuals, labeled with their name and the United Methodist cross and flame, to be placed in the Sanctuary for knots to be tied on Sundays. Career Jumpstart & Employment Transition VolunteersHelp with meetings, speakers, and membership. Career Jumpstart meets on Tuesday evenings. Emplyment Transition meets on Sunday mornings. |
