Acolyte Program

Attention Fifth- and Sixth-Graders! Would you be interested in becoming an acolyte in worship this school year?

Acolyte Training for 2011-12

TRAINING DATE:  Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m. (previously set at 10:00 a.m.)  Meet in Shawver Welcome Center of Sanctuary.

Another training will be offered in September.

A training for all those interested in serving as an acolyte will be each Fall.  If your child cannot attend this training, Contact Allyson George for more information. We need acolytes for the 8:45 and 11 a.m. worship services only.

What is an acolyte?

Acolyting is carrying in the candle flame and Bible at the start of worship, collecting the offering plates, and then taking the flame or ‘Light Out into The World' at the end of the worship service. Acolyting is a great way to be involved in worship. This is a privilege for fifth- and sixth-graders only. If you are interested, contact Allyson George.

SIXTH GRADERS: This is a great way to fulfill your ‘in church' service hours for the Confirmation program this school year. (You will be required to give six hours of service in the church.)
