Human Sexuality Education for Fifth- and Sixth-Graders

The "Created By God" workshop is an age-appropriate education course for fifth- and sixth-graders and their parents that is held each January or February.

Why teach this topic at church? This is a tough topic for parents to discuss with their children, and even if it is discussed, something may be missed because of the comfort level or just difficulties in communication. Presenting it at church in an uninterrupted, intentional manner creates an atmosphere of seriousness and trust that opens the door for future dialogue between parents and their children. The class leader teaches that human sexuality is a God-given gift. The leader will present the basic changes of the maturing body all the way to how a baby is conceived.
