Other Programs for Children

  • 3-2-1 Fun (grades 1-3) and First Friends (grades 4-6)
    Opportunities for children to become better acquainted with other children in the church through fun and fellowship.  Groups meet six times during the school year from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday nights for crafts, games and snacks.  $3.00  donation.
  • Advent Workshop
    For children, their families and other persons of our community.  It is a time when children and adults may enjoy the fellowship of others as they prepare for the season of Advent with the making of symbols, gifts and decorations.  The event  concludes with a brief worship service and the lighting of the Advent wreath.
  • Christmas Program
    A service designed especially for children to experience the meaning of the season.
  • Annual Human Sexuality Seminar
    This seminar is offered annually to 5th and 6th graders.  Created by God, the official resource for the United Methodist Church is the basis for this workshop.  Topics addressed include:  human growth, sexual development and reproduction from a Christian perspective.  This workshop has a required parent component.  Next date opportunity is September.
  • lots of children at VBS 2005Vacation Bible School (ages 4 yrs.-6th Grade)
    2006 dates might be June 5-9, 9:00 -Noon each day
    Meets daily for one week each June.  Children ages four (4) through sixth grade participate in this program that consists of worship, music, Bible stories, activities and crafts. 
  • Summer Fun (preschool and kindergarten)
    July 11-15 or July 18-22 Summer Fun for children aged 3 by September 1-Kindergarten (completed this year)
    July 11-18 Music Makers for all children goin into grades 2-7
    Fun and learning for one week in July from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Two sessions are offered.

  • Conference Music Camp (grades 3,4,5)
  • Elementary Conference Camp (students that have completed 3rd-5th grades)
    August 2-5, 2005 at Bridgeport Methodist Conference Center in Bridgeport Texas
    Allyson George is a director and we do need adult counselors, so contact her if you are interested. 
    There are two other camps available for elementary students, but C-4 will be the primary camp for FUMC Richardson.happy VBS 2005
