Will someone be there to answer my questions? At Family Life Center, you’ll find friendly people to say hello, answer any questions you have and direct you to The Source. If you have kids, they can point you to Child Care and help you register your children. We've developed a good security system so you'll know your kids are safe and well cared for. While we have tremendous children’s programming during the worship hour, please know that your children are always welcome to worship with you at The Source. You'll notice that most everyone is dressed comfortably, in anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers. You're cordially invited to have donuts, juice and coffee between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. What can I expect on my first visit to The Source? When you enter our beautiful Family Life Center, you'll receive a copy of the weekly worship bulletin with an outline for the day's service, a scripture passage for the day, and information on how to contact the Source Worship Team. You'll notice the bulletin includes a registration card, which is an easy way for us to get better acquainted; you can ask for any kind of information or assistance using the card. Your Prayer Request can be placed in the offering plate or in the prayer box at the welcome desk, and you’re invited to request prayer for any reason. Before the service begins, you'll see large-screen video announcements of church-related events and become better acquainted with the astonishing variety of opportunities to worship and become more involved with the life of First United Methodist Church. During the service, video screens are used to project scripture and song lyrics so that you can directly participate in worship as you feel comfortable. The service begins with some upbeat music from our superb WORSHIP TEAM, followed by a welcome and introduction to the theme of the service. Someone will pray and read the day's scripture, and the pastor will deliver the message. The Praise Team does a great job leading our praise and worship music with a contemporary feel (keyboards, drums, guitars and vocalists). Methodists are a singing people, and song is a vital component of our worship! Offerings are taken at The Source Worship service, but please be our guest on your first visit, with no pressure to give. Regular attendees will place their contributions in the offering baskets, which are passed around after the sermon. We hope you'll drop your registration card in an offering basket, so that we can be in touch and respond to any information you request.
