Opening the Doors

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. —Revelation 3:20

Memorial Gardens

As of August 31, 2006

Our church’s landscape committee is currently working on a master design plan for our church campus, which includes the Memorial Gardens. Several Memorial Gardens are proposed on the north side of the Sanctuary, and others between the Family Life Center and the Education Center. The Opening the Doors campaign currently lists three Memorial Gardens each at the $10,000 level. Individuals may select one of these gardens to honor or memorialize a loved one. At the request of the donor, a permanent marker listing the name of the donor and the honoree will be placed nearby. We anticipate that these theme gardens will be popular as they are viewed from the hallway on the north side of the Sanctuary.

The landscape committee is working with professional landscape architects to help maximize the beauty and longevity of each garden area. Under consideration is another garden area between the Family Life Center and the Education Center. This large garden may include a children’s garden, walkway through the garden, benches, archways and landscape trees. Future Memorial Gardens may be included in the area.

An additional concept design may include a patio area at the south entrance of the Sanctuary Complex. This piazza could include benches, hardscape features and be used for outdoor receptions. These plans may be implemented in future building phases as funding permits. If you are interested in discussing a Memorial Garden as a Naming/Memorial/Tribute Opportunity, please contact Dr. Clayton Oliphint at 972-235-8385.
