Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. —Revelation 3:20

The Sanctuary Building The sanctuary building is a 43,000 square foot structure. The sanctuary is semicircular 1,300-seat worship center designed around a large chancel area. Cushioned pews provide comfortable seating. This area is highlighted by Glu-Lamb Douglas Fir Hammermill beam structures in a neo-gothic arch style. The seating is in a modified Akron plan, which provides for a feel of community and focus for all worship settings. The silver pipes of the magnificent Klais organ frame the chancel area. The chancel area offers space for the organ console, a grand piano, and other instruments as needed. The chancel choir seats 130 persons in upholstered chairs, which match the fabric on the pews. This area also includes custom designed altar, pulpit and baptismal font. Four small pews provide seating for worship leaders. The center aisle and area around the chancel area are slate. The sanctuary also houses an audio area to allow for sound and other media needs. The transepts of this building provide two large rooms that seat up to 200 persons. These rooms are used for adult class rooms and fellowship areas. One of these rooms also provides us with a temporary chapel setting for services. This building also houses the temporary music suite and music ministry offices. The Welcome Center is approximately 2,300 square feet. A permanent information area is available in this space as well as comfortable seating areas for gathering and informal meetings. In this first phase, this is a place for receptions, small dinners, etc. A residential kitchen and storage is also available. The brides room is located close to the sanctuary in this building as are numerous restrooms. |
