"A friend loves at all times." Proverbs 17:17a Fellowship ClassRoom 208, 9:45 WelcomeWe meet in room 208 in the Education Center. We're glad you're here. Help yourself to some coffee. Open your hymnal and sing. Have a donut while one of the class members reads a devotional. When we introduce visitors please tell us about yourself. Sign up for a social or a mission project. (Some of our members were in the Ark Class which founded Ark House, providing housing and moral support to out-of-towners who have a family member in lengthy treament at Baylor or another hospital in Dallas.) We volunteer for Body and Soul. We raise money for youth missions. We fill tote bags at Christmas. It is often a challange to get the sign-up sheets, role, collection, and news sheets passed around the entire class by the end of our hour. Our average age is... well, the class has been around since about 1973, when we were young couples. Nowadays many of us have grandchildren. We have programs and guest speakers on a variety of topics including some Bible studies, social issues, theology, and life. The class has a bridge group made up of class members as well as a variety of other socials approximately once a month. |
