Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Program is held at UM community centers or churches in the Dallas area . Four mornings a week for two weeks, volunteers are paired with elementary children every 30 minutes to listen to him/her read, helping each child with comprehension and pronunciations. Many of these children are Hispanic and struggle with reading skills. This program keeps children from losing those reading skills during the summer. Teenagers can volunteer if they have completed 8th grade.
