children's time in worship

...Challenging Future

When the site plan for our current site was developed in 2003,the plan included additional buildings for the future, to be added when those were needed to accommodate church growth. Since the move to our current campus in March 2006, Sunday morning worship has increased to the point where all children’s and adult Sunday School classrooms are full and there is no space available at 9:45 for new classes. In addition to a large number of visitors each Sunday, we have received over 800 new members into our church family since moving to the new campus.

The Project Executive Committee, along with congregation committees, met over several months in 2007 and determined the next priorities:

  • Reducing the church’s mortgage balance and debt service to give the church financial flexibility
  • Increasing education space to provide needed new classroom and meeting space
  • Completing rehearsal facilities for the music ministry

Our prayers that our new facility would bring more people to our church family have been answered. Pathway with Purpose will be one more step in meeting the needs of our growing membership.

Your support of this capital campaign today will ensure our ability to reach out to others in Christian love and support tomorrow.

This capital campaign is about the “future that faces us now.”

Stories from our pathway

The FUMCR has helped me become more confident in who I am and helped me realize that there is meaning to life. Growing up in the church has helped me mature and grow closer to God. The people and adults in the youth group are my family. I would be a completely different person without their love and support.

Leslie Roberts (youth)

After 15 years as a choir member, I think of what I’ve gained—the heart-swelling joy I experience working hard to learn and sing beautiful music in several different languages, the fun of fellowship, truly good and lasting friendships, and the opportunity to share God’s message of love with others through music.

Caroline Mecom

When we were searching for a church home, two important factors were a pastor whose messages would lift up Jesus, minister to our needs, and encourage us in our day to day life, and good music with hymns and a fine organ. We found that and more in FUMCR. We love the quality of the music, the spirit in which it is presented and the faithfulness we see in the people involved in this ministry.

I am 9 years old and am an active member of FUMCR. Some of my best friends are from church; the basketball court rocks! I keep telling all of my friends to come here. It’s great to have a Sunday school room full of friends—even if we’re a little bit crowded sometimes!
