Formerly The Serendipity Class

Discovering what God says through the Bible, prayer, and each other

God's Word is not "accidental", but is planned and timeless:

 - written by God    - documented by man    - guided by the Holy Spirit

All ages, couples or singles, are welcome in our learning, sharing, and caring class.   Join us as we continually discover the ABCs of God’s Word for guidance and counsel as we strive to be the best disciples we can be.  Discipleship is a deliberate and positive response to Jesus’ call to “Follow me.”

The Bible always provides our primary reference and foundation.  We also use Bible study material such as United Methodist Church ( UMC) Christian education resources, Curriculum for Adults from Cokesbury (our United Methodist publishing company), Disciple or other similar program study materials, Daily Study Bible series (e.g., Dr. Barclay), and church season specific studies at Christmas and Easter.  Periodically we have a “Sermon Supplement” series where we study current sermon scriptures with an emphasis on the context (who-what-when-where-why) of the passage, relationships of Old and New Testament scriptures, and applications (how) for us today.  This approach greatly increases our understanding and appreciation of the sermons.

Durward Rutledge and Bert Duckett serve as primary teachers.
