Spiritual Formation

We believe that Christianity includes a life-long commitment to growing in faith.  In order to facilitate that growth, we offer a number of long- and short-term study opportunities.  Church membership is not required to participate in these study opportunities.  Some courses have a fee to cover the cost of materials, and limited scholarships are available.

Long-term classes are appropriate for those able to commit to a deeper study experience, including daily readings and devotional.  In addition to growing in knowledge and understanding, these groups form lasting relationships with other participants who are also engaged in this important journey of faith.  Long-term classes typically begin in September and meet throughout the school year, taking brief holiday breaks.  They include the following:

Disciple Bible Study is a unique and important opportunity to study the bible in depth and grow in your faith. Disciple is offered in four levels. Classes are 36- or 32-week sessions, led by experienced facilitators.

Christian Believer is a 32-week study of the classical doctrines of the church.

Companions in Christ is a 25-week journey in prayer, reading of scripture, meditation, and sharing. In addition to learning, Companions in Christ focuses on the experiential aspects of the Christian faith.

Many persons are not in the right "season" of life to commit to a long-term study and prefer one of our shorter-term offerings.  These include Bible studies, United Methodist studies, classes on prayer and Christian meditation, forgiveness, divorce recovery, and more.  Classes range from three to twelve weeks.
