The email group FUMCRTapestry is an open forum for respectful, prayerful, and confidential exchange of ideas and feelings about FUMCR and gay and lesbian issues. For many, this can be a sensitive topic. We encourage open and frank discussions as well as an assurance of confidentiality and respect. Email instructions follow.

Email Discussion Group Guidelines

This is a Christian-based forum. Consider these additional guidelines when participating.

• Messages may not be copied or forwarded to others outside of the group.
• All discussions should be respectful.
• All messages must remain confidential.
• The moderator can and will remove a member who abuses the group.
• Please read the church's disclaimer about email groups before you join.

Participating Using Email

The name and email address of the account you use will appear in the headers of messages that you post and on the moderator's member list. (Only the moderator can view this list.)

• To join the group, simply send a blank email to fumcrtapestry-subscribe@yahoogroups.com . You will be automatically added to the group.
• If you have a Yahoo ID or would like to use one, you can post messages and see archived messages at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fumcrtapestry .
• You can also email messages to the group at fumcrtapestry@yahoogroups.com .
• As other members of the group send messages, you will receive them as regular email messages. You can reply to these messages by email and your reply will go to the group.

Participating Anonymously

You must have a Yahoo! ID to participate in the group anonymously. Only the information you would like to share will be shown to others.

• Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fumcrtapestry .
• Click on "Join this Group" and follow the directions.
• If you don't already have one, you will have to set up a Yahoo! ID and then add a profile. Make sure the profile contains only information you are willing to share (age, male/female, etc.).
• Check the box next to "Hide my email and IP address from the group moderators."
• To post or reply to messages go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fumcrtapestry/post . You will not be able to send or reply to messages by email. If you try to do so the email will be returned to you.
• Only your Yahoo profile name will appear in messages you post and on the moderator's member list.
• You can always see archived messages at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fumcrtapestry . Only group members with Yahoo ID's can see the archive.
