The Woman's Center in Richardson...now in its 26th year, offers diverse programs , support groups , plus resource and referral services . The center is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, non-denominational organization open to women of all ages in the surrounding community.

Programs - Wednesday MorningPrograms Of Interest and Inspiration are offered each Wednesday morning and are open to the community without charge, membership or reservation. Wednesday Morning begins with coffee at 9:30. The program starts at 10:00. Wednesday, April 30PATTY DYE is a Dallas County Master Gardner. She has helped with landscaping many parks in this area. Patty will guide us through the fundamentals of Container Gardening with a slide show for added support and encouragement. Wednesday, May 7PROGRAM TO BE ANNOUNCED. Wednesday, May 14FERD KAUFMAN is a retired photographer from the Associated Press. His presentation on “The Life and Times of an Associated Press Photographer” will let us know “Why he can never go back to the Kentucky Derby,” and share with us with his experiences photographing the rich and famous. Wednesday, May 21We will visit the Valley House Art Gallery on Forest Lane. Be sure to attend every week and find out about this treasure right in our own back yard. You will have all of the details in plenty of time prior to this outing. Wednesday, May 28MARY JO CRIST has at last achieved her 45 year dream of seeing China. She will present her experiences from Beijing to Tibet to Hong Kong, visiting with the people and even sharing meals with them in their own homes. Come hear about China as it is today. Wednesday, June 4WOMENS’ CENTER PLAYERS will amuse us with another production. Who or what remains to be seen. Save the date for some good laughs. Wednesday, June 11TAMARA GOLUBRISKI, a librarian at the Richardson Public Library, encouraged our summer reading last year through a visual display of suggested books. Wednesday, June 25KAY PAGGI, LPC, is not a stranger to our center. As a geriatric care manager she is helpful on a variety of subjects. Kay will speak on “Aging With as Little Inconvenience as Possible.” Wednesday, July 2JIMMY DUNN is the Program Director for North Central Texas Trauma Advisory Council. Bioterrorism is a frightening and puzzling topic for us. Come to a better understanding of bioterrorism through this poignant and critical presentation. Wednesday, July 9JANE GONZALES is a professional “tutu” maker for individuals as well as for ballet companies. She will present an enjoyable program on the production and variety in creating tutus. Wednesday, July 16SALLY RODRIGUEZ is with the Public Relations Dept at Dallas County Parks and Recreation. Find out about “The History of White Rock Lake Area;” through this entertaining picture presentation. Wednesday, July 23DALLAS ARBORETUM. We enjoyed the last presentation by the Dallas Arboretum about a Women’s Garden so much we’ve asked them back. We don’t know the program at this time but I’m sure it is one in which we all will benefit.
