Traditional Worship
The traditional worship services of FUMCR take place each Sunday morning in the magnificent sanctuary. The architecture of the room is referred to as modern gothic. The beauty of the wooden beams gives a warmth to the room that is immediately felt by the worshippers.
Typically these services will give people time to profess their beliefs through a printed affirmation, time for prayer, readings from the Bible, and the spoken word by one of the pastors. Music is always an important element of worship. Hymns are sung both from the United Methodist hymnal and the Faith We Sing book. A wide variety of music is a part of worship services throughout the year. Adaptations of hymns, gospel, classical, and contemporary Christian music will be heard in our traditional services. Orchestra, drums, brass, piano or organ may be a part of the musical presentation on any given Sunday.
The use of screens is a part of the traditional worship setting. The stained glass windows are a study of light as well as inspiration. All worship is an activity the Christian community is called to do: Worship is our work in response to the presence of and grace of God.
