Men of Faith

... for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. - 1 John 3:20

Our Mission

Through study, prayer, service and fellowship we are making disciples by connecting men with God, our church, our community and each other. God works for good in all things, and Men of Faith wants to help all men become Greater Than themselves by joining in God's work.

    Men of Faith Connections

Once a month, during the school year, men of FUMCR and their guests gather to connect with each other, the church, and our faith over dinner and an inspirational program.

All men, high school age and up, are invited. No reservation needed.

Thurs, Oct 19  •  6 pm Dinner, 7 pm Program  •  Coleman Family Hall

Guest Speaker JB Bryant, Welcoming Ministry Associate and Men of Faith Liaison, will deliver the first part of a unique, two-part series that provides a deeper understanding of the Prodigal Son parable by studying it from the characters' different perspectives. He will share his thoughts on the two sons from their points of view and what they represent in the story. Pastor Rich will join us in November to discuss the parable from the father's viewpoint.

The Prodigal Son parable in the Gospel of Luke is one of Jesus' most memorable. Perhaps it is so because it deals with sin and redemption, something that is known to us all at some level. It also speaks to the unfailing love that God has for everyone, even those who stray. In fact, this message was so important that Jesus told three parables on the subject to emphasize his point that God loves all of us, and there is a special joy in heaven when one who is lost is found. Lessons taught in parables offer so much more because they make us think beyond the obvious message through symbols and metaphors. JB will shine some light on who and what each brother represents in this amazing story of love, pride, sin, despair, repentance, redemption, jealously and joy and how this timeless story from Jesus continues to instruct us on how to live our lives as Christian men today.

Make plans to join us for what will be a great night of food, fellowship and a deepening of our faith and understanding of God's love for us all. Please invite a friend and share with men from your Sunday school and small groups!
