New Antiphonal Organ Pipes in the Balcony!
We have adding the final organ stops in the balcony, which has completed the installation of our Klais pipe organ. The design of the new case matches the beautiful woodwork of the front case. The pipes in the balcony are called the antiphonal division. Antiphonal means the pipes are separated by space and can speak back and forth, although all the pipes are played from the main organ down front. The antiphonal pipes are typically played along with the pipes in the main organ, giving a rich, warm surround-sound effect. There are beautiful horizontal trumpet pipes as well. These are used for festival occasions and weddings. As with the main organ, the antiphonal pipes and case were constructed in Bonn, Germany. A team from Bonn installed the new case and pipes and now that it is finished, the full balcony is open and filled with glorious music.
