Grief Recovery Seminar - "Help for Hurting Hearts"
A 6-session seminar, Help for Hurting Hearts, is offered three times each year for those experiencing grief. The course offers practical information about the grief journey, including coping techniques, theories on grief and the opportunity to share about your deceased loved one. The final session closes with a memorial service and Holy Communion.
The next seminar will be held:
Sundays, January 15 - February 19, 2:00 - 4:00 pm in room 209.
Register online HERE.
Registration for new seminars is open one month prior to the start date. No new registrations will be accepted after the 2nd session. There is a $10 materials fee which can be paid online or at the first session.
The seminar is open to the public. Contact Rev. Marilyn Dickson, 972.996.0111, for more information.
Memorial/Funeral Reception
We offer one of the following as a means of caring for you and your family:
A complete meal delivered to the home of your choice on the day of the service or on the day prior to the service. (Up to 35 people.) This meal could also be served at the church if a space is available.
A reception in the Shawver Welcome Center following the service to include cookies and a cold and hot beverage, as well as all paper products. Servers are provided by the Caring Ministry group. The family may provide additional trays of food if prior arrangements are made.
For those holding a memorial or funeral service at the church, these options will be discussed in the course of planning the service.
Volunteers are needed to serve on the Memorial Reception Team: to bake cookies, prepare a dish, and/or serve at receptions. If you would like to participate, contact Coordinator Jan Casner or 972.661.5928.
