
The Woman's Center in Richardson, now in its 30th year, offers diverse programs, support groups, plus resource and referral services. As an outreach ministry of FUMCR, the center is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-denominational organization open to women of all ages in the surrounding community.
Programs of interest and inspiration are offered each Wednesday morning and are open to the community without charge, membership, or reservation. Wednesday Morning begins with coffee at 9:30, and the programs begin at 10:00. The first Wednesday of each month there is a pot luck lunch. Programs are not scheduled during August but begin again in September.
June 6 Janet Vance, Community Services Supervisor for the Richardson Public Library, will discuss The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This is the Richardson Reads One Book selection for 2013. She will also offer many suggestions for your summer reading enjoyment. Monthly Pot Luck Luncheon.
June 12 Teresa Lenling, Director of Public Programs at the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science, will tell us about this very popular museum and plans for the future.
June 19 Barb Davis, Clinical Research Manager at U.T. Southwestern, will share with us the behavioral changes that may accompany Alzheimer’s Disease, its causes, and what research studies hope to learn.
June 26 Come and see a fashion show! Clothing provided by the Upscale Resale Store and modeled by ladies from the Woman’s Center in Richardson!
