The Woman's Center in Richardson, now in its 30th year, offers diverse programs, support groups, plus resource and referral services. As an outreach ministry of FUMCR, the center is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-denominational organization open to women of all ages in the surrounding community.
Programs of interest and inspiration are offered each Wednesday morning and are open to the community without charge, membership, or reservation. Wednesday Morning begins with coffee at 9:30, and the programs begin at 10:00. The first Wednesday of each month there is a pot luck lunch.
Programs are not scheduled during August but begin again in September.
Nov 6 Aleta McGhee, Principal Docent for the Meadows Museum at SMU, will introduce us to Algur Meadows, who gave his collection of Spanish Art to SMU. She will also tell us about a new exhibition of Joaquin Sorolla’s work coming in 2014 and exciting programs being implement for Alzheimer’s patients and the visually impaired. Nov 13 Rev. Rich Rindfuss will talk abut acepting "The Mutiny is On" challenge, which required giving up seven new things each week. He will share how this has affected his life and include a message for Thanksgiving.
Nov 20 Heather Bell, Manager of the Baylor Insititute of Rehabilitation in Richardson, will discuss How to Stay Healthy and Mobile. Her program will include good health, balance and exercise tips for seniors.
