The Woman's Center in Richardson, now in its 34th year, offers diverse programs and opportunities for speical interests and support groups. As an outreach ministry of FUMCR, the center is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-denominational organization open to women of all ages in the surrounding community.
Programs of interest and inspiration are open to the community without charge, membership, or reservation on the first Wednesday of the month. The morning begins with coffee at 9:30, and the programs begin at 10:00. A pot luck lunch follows the program each month.
May 7 Officer Lee Rhinebarger of the Richardson Police Department will talk with us about Senior Identity Theft and the things we can do to safeguard our identity in a time when identity theft is so prominent.
June 4 Janet Vance, Supervisor of Community Services for the Richardson Public Library, will share Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan, the Richardson Reads One Book selection for 2014. She will also offer many suggestions for your summer reading enjoyment.
July 2 Wendy Loven, a Healthy Foods Specialist at Whole Foods, will tell us about the development of the concept for the Whole Foods grocery stores and give us some valuable pointers on healthy eating.
Aug 6 Rev. Joy Anderson, Minister of Outreach at FUMCR, will tell us about the 2014 mission trip to the Skuinskloof Primary School in South Africa.
