First United Methodist Church Richardson has a long history of serving others.

Sometimes, we have to serve our own church in order to provide radical hospitality, passionate worship, and intentional faith development to our fellow members and guests. Below is a list of ongoing volunteer opportunities that would connect you to your church and its people.

Caring Ministry

If you have a gift for caring for others through phone calls, visits, prayer, sewing, cooking or baking, Caring Ministry may be the place for you to share your talents. Learn more Stephen Ministers

Children's Ministry

Love serving the needs of children?

- We have a spot for you teaching Sunday school, supporting Sunday school teachers or helping with special programs during the school year or summer.

- Our GEMS special needs Sunday school program needs "buddies," GEMS teachers and a Sunday morning coordinator each week at 9:45.

- Missions Emphasis Sundays rely on volunteers to coordinate projects.

Facilities & Grounds

Those who like helping behind the scenes might like to join a team that keeps our campus well maintained and ready for worship, learning, work and play. Garden Ministry Handi Guys 503 Pioneers

Family Recreation, Sports & Health

Our fall/winter Upward programs rely on volunteers to help with player assessments, coaching and game day duties.

FOCUS Photo & Social Media Ministries

Like taking pictures or telling stories? Consider joining FOCUS. Help document and share the stories of FUMCR with our church and beyond.

Inviting & Involving (Hospitality)

For those gifted in hospitality, a place of service in Inviting & Involving Ministry is waiting for you. About 100 volunteers are needed each week to breathe life into this vital ministry. Opportunities to help weekly, monthly, quarterly, or occasionally are available. Learn more

Music

Join a choir or provide support for a children's or youth choir. Music Ministry

Student Ministry (7th-12th grades & college)

Snack supper cooks and servers, trip chaperones and youth fellowship counselors are all necessary to ensure the continued success of this program.

Web Ministry

Web Team members effectively and accurately represent a particular group or ministry area on the website, work from personal knowledge and with a staff liaison, take ongoing responsibility with a flexible time commitment and have easy access to training (programming is not required).
