    Sunday School

9:45 -10:45 am, Bartula Family Life Center
Watch worship here or on Facebook at 9:45 (traditional) or 11:00 (modern)

Every Sunday morning, 7th - 12th grade youth gather together to worship and learn about our Christian heritage and the amazing stories that make up our biblical canon.  Sunday school plays a vital role in helping to build a solid foundation for the faith journey of our youth.

We gather first as a large group in our worship space, then divide into grade level classrooms.

  • CYM
    Council on Youth Minsitry

The Council on Youth Ministry (CYM) is the youth leadership core at First UMC Richardson. Representatives from each grade are needed each year to serve as the sounding board for the youth group providing feedback and new ideas to the youth staff and adults. CYM members are key leaders in their Sunday school classes, during UMYF, and on trips.

Meetings are from 12 - 1 pm, monthly during the school year.

To participate in CYM, students must attend the first meeting, as well as commit to missing no more than one meeting for the year and serving as a leader in the youth group.

    Student Ministry Trips

Our summer children's camps and youth trips have been canceled in the traditional sense, but our leadership teams are discussing alternate options and envisioning new ways to engage our kids. Additional information will be shared as soon as the plans are set. Thank you for your patience as we work through the details.

Each year, FUMCR Student Ministry takes great trips that foster community within the group, provide service to others, and offer opportunities for spiritual growth.

Trip details will be linked to the right (desktop view) or below (mobile view).

    Annual trips include:
     - Spring Break Ski Trip
     - Summer Mission Trips for Junior High and Senior High
     - August Really Living Retreat
     - Fall Senior High Camping Trip

If you have questions about any of these trips, please contact Tammie Haug at 972.996.0104 or thaug@fumcr.com.

  • Resources
    Resources

FUMCR Student Ministry partners with parents to come along side in helping with the spiritual development of students during their teenage years. We are here to assist you in navigating through these years with all of the confusion, frustration, and questions that come along with it.

    Fellowship and Fun

We believe that faith encompasses all aspects of our lives, including our play time and fellowship time.  Because of that, our youth ministry makes sure to provide plenty of activities for our youth that include good ole' fashioned fun!  Some of the things we do include:  Ice Cream Socials, Broomball, Laser-tag, Lock-ins, Whirlyball, Pool Parties, Ski Trips and much, much more. . . .

    Missions

Whether it is feeding the homeless, visiting our church’s shut-ins or going on mission trips to New Mexico, Galveston, Oklahoma, San Marcos, or some other location, there are various opportunities throughout the year, for our youth to learn what it means to “serve with Christ.”
