Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.

I have reviewed the webpage (www.fumcr.com/domesticviolence) and updated the resource page today. I will continue to update this. Can the video that Jan and Clayton film be embedded on this page?

Could a statement be included in the bulletin the week that the video with Jan and Clayton is showed? A draft of a message is below. This can be edited as needed.

Domestic violence occurs everywhere including in our communities and in some of our homes. It robs victims of the dignity and life that God wants for each of us. We are called not only to recognize the signs and symptoms of domestic violence, but also shed light on the issue, provide support for victims, and advocate for change. For more information about the UMC response to Domestic Violence, as well as resources to equip you to act please visit www.fumcr.com/domesticviolence.
