Body and Soul Resuming In Person

Body and Soul is a ministry that provides a weekly Sunday meal at 4 pm at St. Paul UMC in Downtown Dallas to individuals who are homeless. After over two years of serving sack lunches in the parking lot, we hope to resume serving hot meals indoors on July 31! Key volunteer positions have to be filled in order for us to resume this important ministry that nourishes bodies and souls.

New cooks are needed for the 4th Sunday crew. Cooks pick up the food from the church by 2 pm and prepare the food in the kitchen at St. Paul.

There is also an opportunity to serve as the food coordinator who sets the weekly menus, orders and purchases food, maintains inventory, as well as sets out and labels the food for cooks to pick up each week. The schedule is flexible.

If you are interested in sharing God’s love through cooking or serving as the food coordinator, please contact Rev. Pavielle Jenkins at or 972.235.8385.

Individuals and groups have the privilege of serving each week as they greet guests, present devotionals, serve food, distribute essentials, and clean up. A bus picks up volunteers at 3 pm at FUMCR and returns the group around 5 pm. Sign up for a Sunday

If you would like to contribute financially to this ministry, you may do so online here or by sending a check to the Finance Office with “Body and Soul” in the memo line.
