Inclement Weather Shelter Volunteers

GLOWS overnight warming shelter in Garland is open when the NWS forecast is a wind chill of 32 degrees with a 20% chance of precipitation over a 3 hour period or wind chill of 28 degrees over a 3 hour period regardless of precipitation. 

Volunteers are needed to set up, prepare and serve food, and greet/host individuals staying overnight. 

The shelter will be activated Friday, Jan 12, for multiple nights at the Salvation Army Garland Boys & Girls Club Building at 435 S. 5th St., Garland.  Meals will be served at the fellowship hall across the street, 451 W. Ave. D., Garland.
