140th Birthday Celebration
Sun, Aug 16, 8am-1pm, Coleman Family Hall
We look forward to gathering together to celebrate 140 years of God's faithfulness through First United Methodist Church Richardson.
Celebrate with us throughout the morning as we reflect on the stories and people who have shaped our church and look ahead to the legacy we're building for future generations. And share a little birthday cake!
There will be an opportunity to thank our longtime church historian, Frances Long, for her faithful dedication and countless hours spent preserving the stories of those who came before us, ensuring that the history of our church continues to inspire those who come after.
Frances Long has a historian's heart. For decades she has taken an active interest in people, their family stories, and the saga of Methodism in Texas. By welcoming questions and treating everyone with kindness, she has helped many people find and cherish their own spiritual roots. As local church, annual conference, and jurisdictional archivist, Frances has preserved documentary evidence of the past for the use of people today and in the future. Her greatest joys are meeting people, listening to them, and helping them make meaningful discoveries in the archives. I will always cherish Frances as a colleague and friend.
