Telling a Good Story: One Day Retreat
Sat, May 13, 9 am - 3 pm, Ogden Fellowship Hall & Orr Music Suite
Telling a good story starts with finding a good story. This one-day retreat sponsored by the StoryTellers Project of FUMCR will help you develop the tools for finding the stories worth telling that are around you everywhere you go. Whether in an impromptu meeting or in a planned interview, discover ways to ask questions that lead to storytelling, and learn about the logistics and technology to make capturing those stories easy for sharing.
Sessions led by Kevin Burns (Communication Associate, FUMCR), Frances Long (Historian, FUMCR), Kent Roberts (Historian, Highland Park UMC), Rev. Fred Trevino (Associate Pastor, FUMCR) and Walter Evans (Retired News Anchor, KDFW).
All participants completing the one-day retreat will have the opportunity to take part in the Summer StoryTellers Project called "People + Faith = Hope" where will be collecting stories to share with FUMCR this fall.
Cost: $10. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
