Bags are prepared each Advent season as a part of our Homeless Ministry. Totebags are provided with a list of items requested for either MALE or FEMALE recipients. Bags are delivered to the Austin Street Shelter, Union Gospel Mission, Dallas Transitional Center, and Body & Soul. A record 1175 tote bags were returned in 2015!

International Christmas Market Shares

Shares may be purchased ONLINE through Dec 31 to benefit Ark House, Body & Soul, Clean Water/Water Wells, Habitat for Humanity, Healthy Women Healthy Liberia, Heifer Project International, HEROES, Read With Me, Skuinskloof School, Stovebuilders of Guatemala and Youth Mission Projects.

Advent/Christmas Eve Offering 

Advent offering envelopes are available in the pew backs. Designate your check for this offering or GIVE ONLINE. We will support four different ministries this year:  

BODY & SOUL is a ministry of FUMCR  offering a hot dinner meal to homeless men, women, and sometimes children each Sunday afternoon in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul UMC, downtown Dallas.

PROJECT TRANSFORMATION is a ministry utilizing the talents of college students in partnership with UM churches to offer daily activities to children in low income neighborhoods. This offering will enable PT to expand the program to other cities in Texas and neighboring states.

KAFODZIDZI PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL in Ghana is the home school of Sam Asmah, FUMCR’s  Building Services Supervisor and church member. This school serves several hundred children and desperately needs repairs to remain functional.

NETWORK OF COMMUNITY MINISTRIES, is the emergency social service agency of Richardson assisting Richardson residents with rental and utility help, as well as providing food pantry and clothing closet items.

A service for individuals and families that have suffered loss, through death, divorce, separation or unemployment, as well as those dealing with addiction.
